At What Temperature Does Silver Melt?

I have always loved to work with silver. Recently my obsession has been with rings. I make some of my rings with the casting process. You have to first create the design, then the mold, and then cast it. I currently have 8 designs and am always working on more. Here are my latest two... what do you think? Check some more out at

Lapidary Work...

Let's start from the beginning... what does Lapidary even mean??

A lapidary (the word means "concerned with stones") is an artist or artisan who forms stone, mineral, gemstones, and other suitably durable materials (amber, shell, jet, pearl, copal, coral, horn and bone, glass and other synthetics) into decorative items such as engraved gems, including cameos, or cabochons, and faceted designs. Hardstone carving is the term in art history for the objects produced and the craft.

My name is Dobrila Pintar and I am a designer/owner of Eleven Eleven Jewelry. One of my passions is doing Lapidary work. I have attended 2 years of training at the exclusive Ghost Ranch Jewelry school, where I learned various techniques in dealing with stones, cabochons, amber, turquoise, and other precious stones. It is a very interesting process! You have to pick out the stone you like, cut it, shape it, shine it, and so on, to make it perfectly fit for your jewelry piece. I included some pictures so everyone can see the process and the end result of lapidary work.
